Learn more about  preserved flowers

What are preserved flowers ?

Preserved flowers are real flowers that have been grown from the ground and cut from the rose plant and then treated with a glycerin preservative to keep them looking fresh and beautiful for months to years. Preserved flowers go by many names on the internet and they also are sometimes called preserved flowers, preserved flowers, eternity flowers, infinity flowers, immortal flowers, flowers that last eternal, and preserved flowers. Often times preserved flowers are confused with dried flowers, wax flowers, and artificial flowers, but they are not the same; moreover, preserved flowers are eternal with a glycerin solution and undergo a multi-step chemical treatment to create the long lasting effect.

How long can preserved flowers last ?

Preserved flowers, unlike fresh flowers that usually last only a week or two, can maintain their beauty for years without wilting or losing their color. However, preserved flowers may lose their vibrant color and fade over time if exposed to fluorescent light or excessive sunlight. Additionally, very humid or dry conditions are not ideal for preserved flowers, as excessive moisture can cause the glycerin in the petals to weep out. Prolonged exposure to very low humidity can also lead to the petals becoming brittle and more prone to cracking or falling apart, similar to regular dried flowers.

How to care for preserved flowers ?

Care for preserved flowers includes avoiding exposure to strong sunlight or fluorescent lights to prevent the flowers from losing color and fading. Additionally, excessively humid or dry conditions need to be avoided, as too much humidity can cause the glycerin solution in the flowers to ooze. Exposure to very low humidity for long periods of time can also cause petals to become brittle and more likely to crack or fall off, similar to what happens with regular dried flowers. Therefore, in order to maintain the beauty and longevity of preserved flowers, care needs to be taken to avoid these adverse conditions and the flowers should be gently cleaned regularly to remove dust.
